The Economy of the New EU Copyright Law: Victory for Platform Operators or Opportunity for Business Models in the Creative Sector?

In March 2019, the European Parliament adopted a new copyright directive despite numerous protests. The EU is pursuing desirable goals: it wants the reform to strengthen authors, create better earning opportunities for publishers, authors, and musicians, ensure standardization throughout Europe, and create legal certainty. However, the new legal situation will make it more difficult to distribute text, music, and videos. Is the new EU copyright directive a breakthrough for creative people or a breakthrough into the non-free internet?
