Do Bundestag MPs Who Fail to Toe the Party Line Get Told Off

Are Bundestag MPs chastised by their own parties if they fail to toe the party line in roll call votes? This study examines all 218 roll call votes in the legislative period of 2009–2013 for 257 MPs from the Bundestag register of MPs. The results do not show that their parties punished MPs who voted against their party when it came to new nominations.
