Old Age Provision and State Pensions – How Sustainable Are They?

The June issue of the Economists Panel by Ifo and FAZ economics polled professors at German universities on the topic of old age provision and a reform of the state pension system. The majority of economists consider the current pension system to be unsustainable. Participants therefore favour a long-term financing of state pensions, and a higher retirement age.
