The Press, Publications and Conferences department is responsible for public relations and offers services to other Ifo departments. It is an intermediary between the institute and journalists, Ifo members, firms, public authorities, or students. The department is responsible for the production and sales of the Institute’s publications as well as the maintenance and expansion of the Website and the organisation of the Institute’s conferences.
The department answers questions on research reports, dispatches individual items and markets Ifo journals and books. It arranges interviews with Ifo experts. Organising press conferences and sending press releases to the national and international press is also a task of the department.
The department is responsible for all publications of the Institute. This task includes editing and translating of texts, printing preparation as well as type-setting and forwarding to the in-house or external printers. Statisticians, illustrators, type-setters and printers complement the work of the editors. They also collaborate on contract research and projects carried out by other Ifo departments.
The Website of the Ifo Institute is the platform for the information offered by the Ifo Institute. It offers not only information about the Institute and its activities in German and English but also enables external and internal users to access the the Institute’s databases. This information centre is being constantly expanded with data, publications, videos and other information from the Institute that is offered for a fee or free-of-charge in the Internet.
