Professor Batchelor is currently involved in the project “Kazakhstan - Methods to develop an Early Warning System for a Resource-Rich Transformation Economy”, which is financed by the Volkswagen Foundation. The basic task is to establish a reliable Early Warning System for both the monetary and the real economy of a country rich in natural resources on the basis of scientific methods geared to the Kazakhstan economy. In the context of Kazakhstan’s financial stability Professor Batchelor is particularly concerned with specific monetary aspects.
