54th Euroconstruct Conference

Munich, 5th and 6th December 2002

The 54 Euroconstruct conference was organised by the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, Munich, founding member and German partner institute of Euroconstruct. The Ifo Institute was founded in 1949 and is one of the six leading economic research institutes in Germany. Its primary focus is in research and consultancy of macro-economic developments and of public finance and labour markets. The construction sector is intensively analysed.

The conference will be held in German and English. For the main conference, simultaneous translation will be available in German, French, English and Italian.

Private Infrastructure Projects Gain Importance

Structure and Programme of the Conference

The conference includes a welcoming evening, the main conference and (as a supplementary programme) a guided visit of important buildings and interesting construction sites in Munich.

The morning session of the main conference deals with the special topic "Infrastructure improvement in Europe: private and/or public?" We will hear a main speaker and contributions from Germany, France, United Kingdom and Italy. In the afternoon session representatives of the Euroconstruct member institutes present the forecasts for the three main construction sectors (residential construction, non-residential construction and civil engineering) and for total construction output up to 2004 and with a outlook for 2005.

The conference will be of interest to construction industry senior managers and other professionals, particularly in the following areas:

Representatives of ministries and public authorities

9.30 a.m. until approx. 12.00 a.m.	Guided Visit of Buildings and Construction Sites in Munich The construction site visit will take us to one of the most interesting high-rise construction projects in Munich: the Münchner Tor 1 of the Munich Re Group on the Mittlerer Ring. From the 20th storey you can enjoy not only a fantastic view of Munich and the Alps but also a look at some of the most important, current construction projects in Munich.
