The CESifo International Spring Conference of the Ifo Institute was held at the Academy of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin on 19 and 20 March 2009. On the first day the origins and lessons of the crisis were discussed. Speeches were delivered by Hans-Werner Sinn, President of the Ifo Institute, Axel Bertuch-Samuels, International Monetary Fund, and Jim O`Neill, Goldman Sachs. On the second day the prospects for European manufacturing industries in the coming year were examined by European experts.
