The CESifo International Spring Conference of the Ifo Institute was held on 13 and 14 March 2008 in Berlin. On the first day the impact of the financial market stress on major economic regions were discussed. The outlook for the US was the focus. On the second day the prospects for European manufacturing industries in the coming year were examined by European experts. The keynote speech was delivered by Klaus Broichhausen, Chairman of Bauhaus Luftfahrt, a unique think-tank for the European aeronautics industry.
