The chart depicts relative R&D expenditures by different kinds of industries in Germany and the OECD. In Germany, a very large proportion of R&D expenditures comes from Medium-High-Technology industries. This proportion is much smaller in the other selected OECD countries. The importance of High-Tech industries in terms of R&D expenditures is, however, much larger in the OECD compared to Germany.
