Construction of worldwide business indicators based on assessments and expectations of economists, preferably working in multinational companies.
Quarterly survey of about 1000 experts in more than 90 countries. In contrast to the monthly Ifo Business Survey the questions asked in WES do not refer to the company the expert is working for to the country the expert is currently located in. Besides mail polls, on-line surveying is being applied to a growing extent. As an incentive to participate in the survey a report is sent via e-mail and - if wished - as hard copy to all experts who answered the questionnaire.
Primary data collection
Summary results of each survey, with analyses, are published in the internet (Ifo and CESifo websites), ifo Schnelldienst and Ifo World Economic Survey.
