The twice-yearly survey collects sectoral- and industry-specific estimates of investments in the planning and partial-implementation phases. The goal is to supplement the official ex-post data on investment activity in the manufacturing industry in western Germany on a sectoral and industry level for the current and coming year.
Primary data collection with extrapolations
Primary quantitative and qualitative data collected by the Ifo Institute by surveying firms in the manufacturing industry in western Germany; data from the Federal Statistical Office for extrapolating the collected primary data.
Results are presented and analysed in ifo Schnelldienst and in the Ifo investment reports.
