The goal of the German government is to increase the transparency, effectiveness and efficiency of family policies. The BMFSFJ announced that family policies comprised 154 measures, worth 240 billion Euro per year in 2006. This feasibility study should identify these measures with available data and demonstrate the best suited research strategies for evaluations.
The office for the evaluation of marriage- and familyrelated policies (Prognos AG, Basel) contracts out single modules of the evaluation on behalf of the BMFSFJ.
