Based on the results of the national accounting system of the federal states, the gross domestic product (GDP) and the employment in the new federal states and especially in Saxony are forecasted by industry two years ahead. The development of the labour productivity in the economic sectors serves in this calculation as a control variable. The forecasts by industry are based on leading indicators, plan data, expectations and links with national accounting aggregates. One main area of the project is to improve the base of the forecast of service industries.
