This project uses register-based and survey data from Denmark to analyze how different aspects related to the welfare state (taxes and income transfers and various public services) affect emigration and return decisions. The project also studies how attitudes of emigrants towards the welfare state differ from the attitudes of non-migrants, and how the attitudes among emigrants are related to their decision on whether to return.
