Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play an increasing role in modern knowledge-based societies both in the working environment and in private life. In the future “Gigabit-Society” information will be realtime and almost everywhere available. However, only modern telecommunication technologies ensure a rapid and secure access to the global knowledge resources. Against this background, the study aims to analyse the effect of fast internet access on the development of various individual outcome variables such as training participation, non-cognitive and social skills, job matching, and entrepreneurial ability.
The effect of access to fast internet on the above-mentioned individual outcomes will be analysed by multivariate methods on the basis of the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP).
