The creation of knowledge and skills is of special importance in times of a changing economy. This Habilitation project aims to analyse empirically the influence of various factors on human capital accumulation und the importance of human capital on the laour market succes. Policy relevant reseach questions will be addressed focusing on the immediate impact on educational prodcution as well as on the transition to the labour market. This Habilitation project lies in the intersection between the economics of education and labour market economics.
