Empirical analyses on determinants of human capital accumulation and migration

Tasks:

This project investigates the impact of educational institutions on human capital accu-mulation. In a side project, the success of the 1953 federal expellee law which was tar-geted at the integration of expellees in West Germany was analyzed.

Methods:

Different datasets, in particular the PISA data provided by the OECD, are analyzed using micro econometric methods.

Results:

The analyses identify several characteristics of the education system that are related to increased student performance.
