In the field of integration, the Mercator Foundation aims at reducing the educational inequality in Germany in terms of school and university qualifications by 70 percent for second and third generation migrants aged 15-30 and by 40 percent for migrants in general by the year 2025 (compared to 2005). In order to demonstrate the urgency of acting and present promising measures, a Modelling Approach is developed, which is supposed to provide an empirically sound basis on the necessary factors and measures to achive this goal. This project aims at introducing a new method into the integration literature and at identifying parameters and measures which can be applied by the Mercator Foundation and other relevant stakeholders to achieve this goal.
