The various promotion approaches currently in the political discussion are examined in this study in corresponding scenarios as to the financial return flows. The study concludes that the cost of the promotion policy, i.e., the loss of tax revenue is compensated, as a rule, by the positive effects that consist in increased revenue for the state, revenue of the social insurance funds and savings in unemployment insurance. This is all the more the case when, in meeting the legally prescribed quotas for the sales of bio fuels, account is taked of biodiesel as a pure fuel.
