The 62nd Euroconstruct Conference took place in Munich from 30 November to 1 December 2006. Representatives of the Euroconstruct member institutes and well-known experts presented the forecasts for the construction output in Europe and spoke on “The Impact of Globalization on Worldwide Construction Markets”.

The Ifo Institute conducts its annual Ifo Industry Colloquium (Ifo Branchen-Dialog) in the autumn in Munich. The newly designed business-activity conference continues the long-standing tradition of the Ifo economic activity and construction conferences in changed form and now includes the fields of distribution and services. The Ifo Industry Colloquia are in German and provide a platform for competent and controversial discussions of economic and structural trends. They also critically discuss the economic analysis provided by the joint forecast of the German research institutes and apply it to the industry level.

The conference replaces the economic activity conferences held regularly by the Ifo Institute in spring in Munich. There is now a stronger international orientation and the conference language is English. The first day discussed business trends from a macroeconomic viewpoint, while the second day had a microeconomic focus.
