Besides external databases the EBDC provides innovative datasets of German companies which contain both survey data of the Ifo Institute as well as balance-sheet data from the company databases Amadeus and Hoppenstedt. Currently, researchers may use the EBDC Business Expectations Panel (focus: cyclical economic factors/ balance-sheet data) as well as the EBDC Business Investment Panel (focus: investment/ balance-sheet data), which will both be continually updated as regards time and content.

For researchers and guests of LMU and the Ifo Institute with strictly scientific purposes the EBDC provides a data documentation as well as the list of variables for the EBDC Business Expectations Panel and the list of variables for the EBDC Business Investment Panel. Admission to the datasets will be granted on site after approval of the application for the research project (1 page DIN A4 format containing project description, research objectives, etc.) and receipt of the terms of use of the EBDC Panels (PDF) (cf. Access Concept).
