"Number One Country, Number One Currency?" a lecture by Barry Eichengreen
At the invitation of the Ifo Institute and the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Prof. Dr. Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics at the University of Berkeley, will give a lecture entitled: "Number One Country, Number One Currency?"

Prof. Eichengreen is one of the world's most renowned economists specialising in the international monetary system and has made numerous contributions on this topic. He was critical of the euro from the outset and talked of a "Break-Up of the Euro Area" in a highly-regarded article published as early as 2007.
Prof. Eichengreen's lecture is supported by Wiley-Blackwell, which publishes “The World Economy” journal and annually sponsors a lecture by an outstanding academic -- The World Economy Lecture.
