The CESifo Group, consisting of the Center for Economic Studies (CES) of the Economics Department at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, the Ifo Institute and CESifo, their jointly owned subsidiary, forms a research co-operative which is unique in Germany. Within its international research network the CESifo Group strives to combine excellent theoretical and applied economic research and to utilise it for high-level well-founded policy consulting. CESifo conducts international conferences with outstanding economists, publishes and distributes one of the world's largest discussion paper series in economics, the CESifo Working Paper Series, and publishes several book series in collaboration with MIT Press.

The integrated graduate programme (Graduate Integrated Programmes – GRIPS) of the Center for Economic Studies (CES) and the Ifo Institute is designed for qualified young economists. Depending on their individual interests, the doctoral students can be given positions at CES, with its university orientation, or at the empirically oriented Ifo Institute.

The university and the Ifo Institute are intent on raising the share of women in economics and invite applications from women in particular. Given equal qualifications, handicapped applicants will be given preference.

Post-doctoral Researcher (m/f) for the Ifo Center for the Economics of Education

The center conducts policy-oriented research in the field of applied empirical microeconomics with a focus on the economics of education. The successful candidate will work in this area and take part in project acquisition and realisation. S/he will present his/her papers at academic conferences and publish in leading international journals. S/he will also have the opportunity to teach at the University of Munich at the chair of Prof. Ludger Woessmann. Researcher (m/f) for the Ifo Center for Public Finance and Political Economy

The department conducts research into its core areas of public finance and political economy and does economic policy advisory work. The successful candidate will work on the department’s projects and will present his/her research results at specialist conferences and with papers in peer-reviewed journals. Two Doctoral Students (m/f) for the Ifo Center for Public Finance and Political Economy

The doctoral students in this department participate in research projects in the fields of public finance and political economy. They are members of the Munich Graduate School of Economics at the University of Munich and participate in its structured doctoral student training programme. Three doctoral students (m/w) for the Ifo Center for International Economics

The successful candidates will join a team led by Dr. Rahel Aichele that will work on the research project entitled: “Quantitative Tools for the Analysis of Global Governance Issues” acquired in a Leibniz tendering process. The project’s aim is the development and econometric estimation of simulation models for analysing problems in global economic policy cooperation. It will focus on international trade policies, foreign direct investment, global value chains, as well as the interaction between international trade and environmental policy. Administrative Assistant (m/f) for the Ifo Center for Business Analysis and Surveys

The successful candidate will work on the center’s business surveys. S/he will be responsible for marketing the times series data derived from the surveys and will support the survey team in organising Ifo’s monthly business surveys.
