The CESifo Group, consisting of the Center for Economic Studies (CES) of the Economics Department at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, the Ifo Institute and CESifo, their jointly owned subsidiary, forms a research co-operative which is unique in Germany. Within its international research network the CESifo Group strives to combine excellent theoretical and applied economic research and to utilise it for high-level well-founded policy consulting. CESifo conducts international conferences with outstanding economists, publishes and distributes one of the world's largest discussion paper series in economics, the CESifo Working Paper Series, and publishes several book series in collaboration with MIT Press.

The integrated graduate programme (Graduate Integrated Programmes – GRIPS) of the Center for Economic Studies (CES) and the Ifo Institute is designed for qualified young economists. Depending on their individual interests, the doctoral students can be given positions at CES, with its university orientation, or at the empirically oriented Ifo Institute.

The university and the Ifo Institute are intent on raising the share of women in economics and invite applications from women in particular. Given equal qualifications, handicapped applicants will be given preference.

Two researchers (m/f)

We are setting up a task force in the field of taxation and fiscal policy that will be led by Ifo President Prof. Clemens Fuest. The task force will conduct research into taxation, fiscal and fiscal economic issues and will bring its results into policy advisory work and the policy debate. To this end, we have immediate vacancies for two researchers (m/f).

These post docs will conduct research into the core areas cited above, analyse current taxation and fiscal policy issues, acquire and work on corresponding projects and present their research results at expert conferences and in articles for peer-reviewed journals. Researcher (m/f) for the Ifo Center for International Institutional Comparisons and Migration Research

The successful candidate will conduct research in the field of international migration, acquire and work on corresponding research projects and present research results at expert conferences and in articles for peer-reviewed journals. Doctoral student (m/f) for the Ifo Center for Business Cycle Analysis and Surveys

As part of its macroeconomic research, this department works with professors Rüdiger Bachmann (University of Notre Dame), Kai Carstensen (University of Kiel) and Martin Schneider (Stanford University) on a project entitled: “Expectation Formation, Uncertainty and Ambiguity at the Firm Level – Measurement and Macroeconomic Implications” funded by the Thyssen Foundation. The successful candidate will work on this project and will have the opportunity to gain a doctorate in economics from the department head’s chair at the University of Munich. Part-time staff member in central services

Key service functions of the internationally-active institute are bundled in its Central Services department. In addition to dispatching tasks, this position’s responsibilities include billing, print storage administration, as well as address data management.
