3. Monetary Assistance to Families

Monetary support to families can take the form of child-related cash support (e.g. child benefits / allowance), of “in-kind” benefits (e.g. childcare services like kindergartens) and breaks through the tax system. All countries provide a mix of these support measures. Some countries have a stronger focus on cash benefits, some on in-kind benefits.
