Paul de Grauwe, a world-class economist and Belgium’s most renowned economics scholar, is the director of the CESifo Research Network’s Macro, Money and International Finance Research Area and a professor of international economics at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He is a member of the Group of Economic Policy Analysis that advises the EU Commission President, and was a member of the Belgian parliament from 1991 to 2003. He has been a visiting scholar at the IMF, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, and the Bank of Japan. Now he will become a Professor Emeritus, and his alma mater is honouring him with a special conference.
